The SC family of computer-based fax boards is for developers
who need to mix and match high-density, high-powered fax boards
used in service bureaus and voice-related applications. The
CP6/SC, and CP12/SC provide six and 12 channels of capability
and connect to PEB and SCbus. This enables a variety of configurations,
including access to a large number of analog and digital line
interface options, and the ability to mix and match computer
telephony components.
Each fax cell is a microprocessor-based facsimile modem
with its own CPU, custom ASIC, 512 K of RAM, and 32 K PROM.
These features allow each channel to function as an independent,
computer-based facsimile subsystem, interfacing with the host
computer.
The CP6/SC and CP12/SC are found in applications such as
fax broadcasting, interactive voice-fax response, and T-1
connections for fax.
Configurations
The CPxx/SC line integrates well with complimentary Scbus
and PEB-compatible hardware. The examples below illustrate
how the fax products can be used in analog and digital environments,
with and without voice processing capability.
Fax-Only T-1 Mode
Application Case: A US-based enhanced fax-specific service
bureau that needs at least six T-1 lines of fax to handle
peak traffic.
Solution Set
- 2 CP12/SC boards
- 1 DTI/240SC board
Voice/Fax/T-1 Mode
Application Case: A customer is installing an information-on-demand
system. Twenty-four voice lines and 12 fax channels (which
can be shared across the 24 voice lines) are required. The
customer wants to enable both one-call and two-call fax capability.
Solution Set
- 2 CP12/SC boards
- 1 D/240SC-T1 board
