the act of providing non-simultaneous telephone communications,
so that verbal messages and memos can be recorded,
edited, routed, and stored using a touch-tone telephone.
Voice processing is usually accomplished with an application
called Voice Mail. Voice Mail also allows users to
route a verbal message to a number of people at once
and to reply to a voice message using a one button
command.
Voice processing is the act of answering, routing,
and handling phone calls with a computer-based system.
The call processing system answers and processes calls
according to the needs of the caller and the person
and/or company being called. Call processing is usually
accomplished with an application called Automated
Attendant. Automated Attendant gives callers the option
to control the routing of their call, to leave a message,
or to call another extension. Automated Attendant
also gives the called party the option to automatically
transfer, screen, or block calls.
Combining voice processing gives you even more powerful
applications, such as Transaction Processing that
provides efficient and timely data collection. Transaction
Processing answers calls and asks callers a series
of questions. Their recorded responses are then stored
for future action. For example, callers can place
orders, register for a class, or request product information.
