A USER-FRIENDLY INTERFACE
VoiceMemo uses simple mnemonic commands, such as "press P to play a message", that make the system easy to learn and use. VoiceMemo also offers special "hands-free" features for cellular users, simplified mailboxes for hotel guests, and prompts in up to 15 languages.
MULTIMEDIA MESSAGING THROUGH YOUR PHONE OR PC
VoiceMemo provides an integrated mailbox that can give you access to your voice messages, fax messages, E-mail and database information through your telephone or, with Centigram's OneView(TM), through your PC.
POWERFUL APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT
VoiceMemo gives you access to an easy-to-use design tool that offers over 300 mailbox features and functions, which in turn can be combined to create over 100 million classes of service. With VoiceMemo you can create and customize numerous applications, either systemwide or on an individual mailbox basis. For example, even when several people share a telephone number and voice mail greeting--for example, dormitory roommates--callers can still leave private messages for each individual.
STANDARD REPORTS
VoiceMemo includes over 20 reports on individual mailbox billing, system resource statistics, and system configuration information, and supports call detail recording (CDR) reports as an optional feature. VoiceMemo also allows you to bill outcalls directly to the mailbox owner's credit card so that you do not have to absorb the costs of these calls or wait to be reimbursed.
FLEXIBLE CONNECTIVITY
VoiceMemo can integrate with almost any PBX, central office or key telephone system on the market, including those manufactured by AT&T, Fujitsu Business Communication Systems, Hitachi, Mitel Corporation, NEC Corporation, Northern Telecom and ROLM.
SYSTEM RELIABILITY
With its built-in disk drive, hardware redundancy and continuous system operation (CSO) software, VoiceMemo is one of the most reliable voice messaging systems available today. Because it has no single point of failure, the VoiceMemo system will continue to function even if one module goes down, and can be maintained and repaired online.
SECURITY
VoiceMemo includes several layers of security to help prevent unauthorized system usage. Users can define passwords up to 10 digits long. The system can also notify you when someone has tried to login to your mailbox using an invalid passcode. To discourage repeated attempts to break into the system, you can program VoiceMemo to "lock up" mailboxes after a certain number of invalid passcodes have been tried.
VoiceMemo also offers administrative security features. Only one person has access to the entire system, and access to any part of the system is assigned through user IDs and passwords, which must be changed regularly. An audit trail is also provided whenever an administrator enters any part of the system so that all actions can be traced back to a specific individual.
VOICE MAIL
VoiceMemo gives you full control of your voice messages, allowing you to play, make, answer, give, keep and discard messages with a single keystroke. You can send messages to one or more users, distribution lists and off-system telephone numbers. You can also control how and when your messages are delivered by marking them urgent, confidential or return receipt, and by scheduling message delivery for any time within the next year!
In addition to these messaging options, VoiceMemo allows you to personalize your mailbox with up to four different greetings recorded in your own voice. These conditional greetings let callers know whether you are on the phone, away from your desk or out of the office.
AUDIOTEXT
VoiceMemo's audiotext allows you to make information available to callers 24 hours a day. You can design an application that lets callers hear a single greeting or message, such as directions to your office, or design a more complex application that allows callers to select information from a variety of menu choices, such as a tourist information line that provides information about hotels, events and attractions.
MESA-FORMS
VoiceMemo's optional MESA-Forms application offloads your employees from having to request the same information from callers over and over. Instead, the MESA-Forms application automatically moves callers through a series of prerecorded questions, records their responses and stores these responses in a VoiceMemo mailbox for later retrieval. This not only frees your employees for more complex tasks, it also allows you to process more calls more quickly.
NOTIFICATION
VoiceMemo can notify you at any number you wish whenever new messages arrive, or only when urgent messages arrive. This means you can be notified at home, in your car, through your pager, or anywhere else you happen to be.
PAGING
VoiceMemo integrates with all types of pagers, and can deliver both voice messages and callback numbers (often called "cut through paging"). A single VoiceMemo mailbox can be used for paging and voice messaging--giving you the convenience of "one-number" access to all your messages.
AUTOMATED ATTENDANT
VoiceMemo can also be configured with optional automated attendant software to provide applications ranging from basic company or departmental call routing to complex call processing menus for individual users. You select the automated attendant product that best meets your company's needs.
OUTCALLING
VoiceMemo's messaging capabilities extend beyond system users. With VoiceMemo's flexible outcalling applications you can send messages to anyone, anywhere, anytime.
Auto Wakeup lets you send yourself a "wake up call" whenever and wherever you choose.
Message Delivery lets you select where, when and how often your messages are delivered. Instead of calling into VoiceMemo to check your messages, you can have them delivered automatically to your home, car phone, hotel room - - anywhere you want!
Off-System Messaging lets you send messages to people who are not system users. You simply record the intended recipient's name and enter their telephone number. The system automatically calls the number you entered and attempts to deliver the message at the time you selected.
